Does anybody buy ammo online?

I'm in search for the elusive .22 quarry, and gunbot is a very helpful site. However, I'm rather leary about giving out certain info (I.e., CC #) to a company which I know nothing about.

This is the first time since I started shooting that I've been out of this caliber, I should have paid more attention to the long running thread on this subject.

I bought some ammo online years ago and it landed me on a bunch of lists as a "gun owner." This may or may not bother you but you will get mail from the NRA and a bunch of other gun, hunting, fishing, political, and other organizations. Also got catalogues from militia supply groups and a fascinating line of coon hunting supplies called Night Lights. Again, may not be a problem for you.

We use to shoot every week and would buy lots of ammo in many different calibers on line in bulk, almost as cheap as re-loading, but low and behold we now have the un-SAFE act in New York State and can't purchase ammo on line any more, Beware in your states that they don't do the same as was in ours, at midnight no less! And the top speakers of both parties are under federal indictments and investigations , go figure.

I buy ammo from sportsmans guide. Watch out for sales as shipping can kill ya.

I just load up at gun shows. There are multiple vendors so the price is in line. I think I just paid $45 for 500 rounds. Last time I bought at Bass pro it was $7 for 50

I occasionally but ammo and other things from Midway inc. No issues.

I have recently bought ammo from Midway, Gander Mountain, Cabelas and Academy Sports. Aside from sale fliers, no increase in junk mail that I noticed or can contribute to the aforementioned establishments. Just need to watch the shipping charges. FWIW, over the Christmas season I was able to find .22LR online at these 4 stores, reasonably priced to boot.

Guys - if you are going to buy anything like ammo on-line.... get a protection VPN, that encrypts your connection to the internet, heck your IP will look like you are in another country, your information is fully encrypted....
The only person who will have any idea what you ordered is the delivery guy... by the weight of the package....
