Oil & Fuel 5035 starts then looses power

I think it somewhat may vary some by dealer. Dealers can get new lines from MUSA by sending in the old ones. I'm not sure whether it depends on if the machine is under warranty, whether MUSA is swapping them out no questions asked, if some dealers mislead MUSA on the age of certain machines, or what the exact circumstances of each scenario has been.

What I do know that there have been MANY users get them replaced after the warranty was up, even on second hand machines, and in at least once instance where it was not bought at the dealer who performed the service, and it cost the owners nothing except transporting the machine to and from the dealer... I also know of at least two instances where owners were charged a service fee and the tech came to them to perform the service.

Perhaps Dave or another dealer can chime in on the actual MUSA policy regarding this. I know there is a technical service bulletin related to the matter, but I'm not sure of the exact contents or what all it provisions are covered, nor am I aware of their policies concerning how TSBs are to be handled.

Thanks, Sysop. I have not had trouble yet, but afraid its just is a matter of time. I need to talk to my dealer and see what they say. Mine is still under warranty, but I wondered if they would do anything since I have not had any problems yet? I would like to get them changed under warranty since I am likely to have problems eventually.

Generally if you go in and simply tell them you heard about the fuel line TSB they'll probably tell you to bring it in so they can be changed.

I personally changed my own return line cause I was leaking a bit of fuel and I had things to do at the time and didn't want to haul it to the dealer. It only took 15 minutes to change it. For the main lines from the tank I let them do it. I just went in and told them it is occasionally more difficult to start than others and was inquiring what I should do. They told me about the bad batch of fuel lines and asked me to bring it in so they can be changed. They don't "put it off" because it doesn't exhibit the behaviors at the shop. When I got to the shop with mine it fired right up without issue and ran without issue. They still took it in and did the swaps and were done in a little over an hour.

Its starving for air or fuel... it could be trash in the tank, lines or filter... don't overlook the air filter... make sure to pull it out and be sure they changed it

Been more than a week since the OPs last post, I wonder if he got it fixed up.

I have not heard an "official" position on this from the company, but anybody that bought a 35 series from me and has fuel line issues will get them replaced at no charge if they bring the tractor here. MUSA will likely reimburse me, but if not, I'll eat it. I suspect most dealers will do the same for their own customers just because it is the right thing to do.
