Heck, Heck, I can't imagine using a splitting maul anymore.

I went to the maul the other day and the wife went one way and I went the other.

Heck, I can't imagine using a splitter anymore without a table AND a 4-way wedge!

That's a serious hunk o' wood to be splitting.

That might have been me, I've been using these bags for about 5 years. I can say wood dries better in them than wood that was stacked. I don't know about those poly bags but they'd be much nicer to fill. My supplier sells the mesh bags in 200 bag bundles but has split bundles for me in the past. 50 was the minimum I ever ordered though, not sure you'll find only a dozen. <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/owning-operating/423644-tractors-wood-show-your-pics-forumrunner_20150506_091845-png"/>
I have a 47 hp l series and the most I feel comfortable lifting is 20 percent of a cord. About how much do you figure you have in a bag?

I'm aiming for a face cord (1/3 of a full cord) when I fill them, but they stack out to be a little shy of a face cord, some more than others. The best one might have been a face cord and the worst is probably only 75% of a cord. Most are probably in the 85% - 90% of a face cord range.

My tractor has a 2700# full height lift capacity. With my blower on the back (roughly 1500#) and loaded tires, it has no problem at all, even when stacking them two high on slightly uneven ground. Without the blower for ballast, I need four wheel drive because the rear has no traction because its so light. It's rare I move a pallet without the blower on the back.
