John,

That makes perfect sense, would it be safe to say that slipping could/would be minimized by going slow in those tricky areas? Couldn't get the video
To work on my phone, will try again on my iPad later.

Thanks

I was going fairly slow and some times it would go down OK and then some times it would start the trip down in the slid mode. I guess the slightest start to slipping gets it to going and when it starts there isd no stopping until the gravitational down forces reduce to some level that an engineer could equate but having levers in ones hand and falling down the side of the hill with little control makes my logic functions cease to operate and my throat starts emitting this high whining noise that some times increases to a wild yell. Course then I turn on a dime, go over to the less steep area and try it again to see if it wa just a fluke and lo and behold it continued doing it the same way 85% of the time went me trying to different actions to change it's behavior with little to no success.:D:eek::shocked::confused2::laughing:.

Okay last night I installed the mulching kit that finally came in at my dealer (popular item they say). A couple tips. First, I tried to install without removing the deck... not a good idea. Instructions say to remove deck first. Ended up doing so... not hard, four pins, a spring and pulley belt. Blades are on TIGHT! Holy crap I thought I was going to bust a bolt or an artery. Make sure you have a long breaker bar and a 30mm socket or use air impact. I used a crescent wrench and slipped a pipe over the handle.

The carriage bolts that you have to remove to install the mulching shields around the blades are painted after install. I stripped two of them and had to cut one off with a grinder to remove. That wasn't fun. Again, lesson learned, use an impact wrench with 12mm socket.

Got it put together and remounted but due to the late night and wine with dinner, I accidently grabbed a few of the bolts from my BX winch project... oops! ******. I knew something wasn't right. I touched up the underdeck with paint and covered the bolts. Forget it... I am not going back to switch them out. Today will be the first mow without side discharge and shooting the grass all over the place. Will report mulching results soon. :D

Mowed today... grass long but dry. Mulching blades did a wonderful job. Didn't see any clumping or long cut droppings. I am happy. Also learned from the dealer that there is a weight kit for the front. Apparently it weighs about 50b (the same amount I planned on using. I didn't find out price but when I do I will probably go ahead and make my own. Got some ideas to get the CG as low as possible and out of the way of steering and lights if I add them later.

I'm checking on some leads for tracks for mine, like snow mobile and if the cost is to high may get the duallys and double up on them which would give me 4 tires on each side in the rear depending on money/cost. Anyone tried either of theses options? Any opinions of which of these would work better?
Keep us informed on weights and when can you come do the mulching stuff on mine? Me do it,...... no...... I don't want it that bad.:D

 Wife mowed today for first time with Z, she was very concerned because it had no brake pedal. I mowed with the F while she was mowing with the Z and she saved me a lot of time because she did much more than I expected/planned on her doing. She only quit because the mower quit mowing when she ran over a piece of carpet/house wrap that stopped the blades. She cleared the blades and went in. She was full of :):D:):D:dance1: when I got in. I guess it's not going to go to the rental property as a business deduction.:D I asked if she wanted the suspension seat but I think she had to much fun on it to notice but sure the novelty will wear off and she'll remember I mentioned the suspension seat so need info from a buyer of it's value and difficulty installing. I'll also check with Barlows about a Kubota one. She said she only hit one of my many smaller trees and I did see a small skinned spot on one.;)

Went to Northern site to read all about the seat. Was asked by Alex if I wanted to chat. I asked about seat fitting Kubota Z122r and was told bolt pattern 11"x11 1/2" and :) Alex was wanting to get out of the chat room. I told him to go if he was busy, he said he wasn't but said my discretion to buy or not and then ready to leave :) Told him go on if he couldn't offer more help and he again said he was there for me but with no input. Then he told me it was a universal fit and they didn't recommend it for any thing specific. I said it seems they would have some feedback from a Kubota buyer of it working, not working or needed modifications to fit and Alex terminated the chat.:laughing: Guess Alex is on a piece rate pay scale and I was asking to many questions. I'll just check with Barlows, Tractor Supply or wait on a Kubota Z122r owner to buy one and tell me how their installation went.:confused3:
