I have a TC40A Gear drive with a 250tl, is the Rabbit/tortoise switch on the joystick non operational for gear tractors? is it only for HST transmissions? It doesnt appear to do anything and I was hoping to use this for a 3rd function switch for a grappler. Thanks

Well I confirmed it does nothing on a gear tractor. It wasn't hooked up to anything.

What is this switch supposed to do? I have a tortoise rabbit switch just below the seat on my 2003 NH TC30. You turn it left or right - a couple of turns either way. What is it supposed to do? I have a gear tractor.

Just below it I have a heel lever to lock up the rear axle that I never use. I also have a foot fuel throttle along with the hand one. I don't use either. (did use the heel lever once when I got hung up in snow, one tire free spinning)

This rabbit tortoise switch is just another that I never used.

I was looking at it today and got to wondering- looking around the internet tonight there was something about using it to relieve hydraulic pressure by opening or closing it. Loader related? Transmission related?

That knob is to set the lift speed of your 3PH... once you've set it at the desired rate it's pretty much 'out of sight, out of mind'.

Isn't the knob under the seat to control rate of 3ph drop only? Does not affect raising speed.

Yeah, you're right (RickB too). The revs to operate the hydraulics + the handle determines the raise speed (at least on my rig).
