First, how come Steiner never got it's own section?

Second, I was reading a post about someone wondering if Steiner or Ventrak mower would fit a PT.

Is this to say that there three makes out there that use this same particular mounting system? I thought the PT had a boom and therefore driven attachments would need to be hydraulic.

But they use the (same) Steiner lift arms?

No, They don't……….. They have arms on the front like a loader, they can lift over 4' and they a quick coupler that locks with hydraulic cylinder. their system runs around 2500 lb. of pressure ………. Get on the PT site …….. jim

So why do I often see PT in the Steiner/Ventrac discusions as if all three are somehow in the same implement family or related in some way?

They are all articulated, but as I understand them, that is where the similarity between the PowerTracs and the Steiners/Ventracs ends. Steiner and Ventracs are very similar to each other, as the Steiner family started Venture Products some years after selling the Steiner Tractor line to Textron, which in turn spun it off. Steiner tractors can use Ventrac attachments, and vice versa, with a belt or pulley change (or both). My understanding is that PowerTrac attachments are hydraulically driven, not belt-driven, so neither Steiner nor Ventrac attachments will work with PowerTracs.

Powertrac has the engine in the rear ……… you don't look around a hood or add weight to the back to pick anything up. Great machine if they a weight transfer system on the 425, they did at one time that worked through the lift cylinders ……...
