Tractor Supply is Coming

The biggest plus for TSC is that they are open seven days a week.Biggest disappointment was a Johsered chain saw we purchased and returned.I always thought they were good saws but that particular model(50cc) was terrible. We found out later that a lot of them had been returned.

I've wondered about the Jonsered saw. TSC used to sell Huskies. Those disappeared and were replaced by Jonsered. Both of those brands I believe are owned by the same conglomerate--Electrolux. My thought is they own too many brands and decided to use Husky to compete with Stihl and use Jonsered for the lower end market.

I have no vested interest in TSC, so I'm really not compelled to get into a defensive position for them. However ..... especially for those living in small communities with a TSC store - they came to your town when most others did not. They provide local jobs and pay local taxes. They provide a wide variety of useful items, even if they aren't the very best. If I need "something" TODAY - they probably have it.

Would I like to see the Mega-Farm-Tools-Tractors-Toys Store come to town? You bet! Guess what ... They aren't coming .....

I agree KiotiKowboy. Just wish these chain stores would take a little time to find out what the local community would need and prefer in quality.
I use TSC from time to time. 20 miles away compared to my Kubota dealer 5 miles away.
A little disappointed in the staff at my TSC. Asked for a square drive PTO shaft for Cat. 1. He told me those have not been made for years. Kubota dealer keeps three different lengths in stock for Cat. 1. Don't care for staff that shovels the BS. Just say we don't stock those.

We have three good sized TSCs in the area, and all seem to vary some in what they carry. One of them carries the BadBoy zero-turns, the other two do not. Two have lots full of small utility trailers, one does not. All this is before ever walking inside.

There are some things that have already been mentioned, which I agree with most; but the one thing that hasn't been mentioned that exists at all of the local TSCs, is the "bargain bins" at the front of the stores near the registers. A lot of what is sold in those is junk stuff, but there are also many really good deals hidden behind the junk. I recently picked up several packs of Dewalt crew-pack cutting discs (same as these) for $3.99 a pack. They've had little 10 packs of tiny LED flashlights for $3.99 ($0.39 each, no-name but apparently decent batteries included). A hickory-handled two-sided dog brush I got out of the 99 cent bin has lasted nearly ten years... Gotta watch what ya grab, but there are some deals to be had occasionally.

Tractor branded clothing, coffee mugs etc are all JD or Farmall. No Kubota. Probably Kubota's fault.

But seriously, the one I have nearby was not exactly what I expected it would be but I do shop there some and am glad it is here. It is just a stone's throw from where I work too which is nice.

I use their Premium UTF in my Kioti. Have one of their solar fence kits and a solar battery trickle charger. Best deal I found was on a 48 gun safe on Black Friday, regular $999 got it for $599. Also picked up a few tools and work shirts.

TSC has its pros and cons. I wish they were larger and had more variety.

Is there such a thing?

I like some of their C.E. Schmidt (TSC) clothing. Pretty decent quality at a fair price. We pick up gates and t-posts, and misc. fencing stuff. It's like any other store. SOme of it is good, some it is not so good, and best purchased somewhere else.

BTW-we have three TSC stores near us. The each carry different stuff based on where they are located based on the suburban/rural demographic near the store.
