Yup, they are over rating that gen set....but that's what get's them sold!

Hey you might be onto it,,,, sorta. This is really an 8,000/10,000 generator labeled as 10,000. Maybe that's why they have to dump them for $649. If that's the case I suspect they will come up for dumping again.

Well it's here already. That was pretty darn quick for freight shipping especially considering where I live. No visible damage to box. I should get time this weekend to fire it up (assuming I got all the parts and it actually works)

Got it unpacked and everything looks like it's there. I was impressed that it had a battery and included the wheel kit. I have one stripped screw on the bottom of the 110v outlet, no big deal. I dumped in a quart of some Pronto brand sae 30 oil. Screwed the Fitting on the propane bottle and purged the line. Cranked about 2 seconds and fired right up. Tested the 120v outlet and everything works. Voltage goes to 240 when you flip the switch. Idle control works as well. It included a bunch of plugs for the outlets and some basic tools as well as a funnel.

I ran it about 5 minutes and checked the oil and could see a few small metal flakes. I dumped it out and poured in a fresh quart. Ran that about 5 minutes and did another change. Oil looks good. I'll run this dino oil until I use it a few times and put some hours on the machine and then switch to synthetic. I'm really curious to see how this will run an inverter welder. I am going to pick up the necessary parts tomorrow.

DId you get the "DIGITAL HOUR / VOLT METER" ? Mine has only an analog meter. It has a "needle" that actually "moves" to 120 or 240VAC, remember those?

Analog. It's old school. Clearly not what was advertized but not a big deal IMO.

True, i missed that part. Analog volt meter is not a big deal but an hour meter would sure be nice for things like oil changes.
