Need help making wish list 50 +/- pto hp cab tractor.

I have a 5240 and am very happy with it. When I was buying if I could have justified an M series I would have but the 5240 was already more than I needed. Are you used to the hydrostatic transmission? I would spend a little time in the seats before I bought.

I'm keeping my hydro tractor for now. For loader work and mowing in tight places I never want anything else.

We have found that to be an ideal combination, loader work with our M8540 hydro-shuttle is fine, but close quarters and precise work with it really wear me out.

If your keeping the smaller hydro tractor then I would definitely go with the M series with the hydraulic shuttle.

If you decide to go with the M series, you might want to consider the 7060. Same tractor as the 6060 but with an additional 8 PTO HP, limited slip front differential and optional 12 speed tranny w/ 540 EPTO. It will be more $, but the 12 speed tranny would be a must have for me.

Did not realize that the 7060 has front limited slip. That must be great to have.

It sure is, we traded a Case CX80 cab in on our M8540 cab and while we got the CX80 stuck two or three times a year, we've never gotten stuck with the 8540 limited slip, amazing what difference that extra wheel pulling will do.

My next tractor will be a 12sp M series or GX! My problem is I can't ever see me getting rid of my 5240.. Such a handy size. If you're not getting FEL definately go with the M..
