68°F and no measurable rain last 24 hours but overcast.

Another day of fiberglass insulation and my staple gun.

Be safe
Have a great day

88F today, 79F now. There is a line of severe t-storms moving in our direction and I sure hope we get some rain from that. Did some gardening this morning maybe I'll get lucky and the rain will give the seeds a fast start.

Couple of seasonal firsts in past two days: dragonflies, deer flies, a couple mourning doves, and a few fireflies in the tall grass.

Sodamo, you are making nice progress on the addition.

RS, nice looking hosta.
finished the walkway today, started very early before it got too hot, several hundred pounds of topsoil later, it was finished and seeded with the exception of the area inside the "L" that I'm going to use about four strips of sod on. Need a little more elevation there and a layer of sod should do it.

Then worked in the woodshop a bit, installed some long metal powerstrips on three walls hooked into Tripplite surge protectors. Then plugged in the new baby fridge and called it a day.

we might get a shower tonight but not in forecast.
David/Sodamo, a carpenter told me the way to get fiberglass off your arms was to run panty hose over them.
Sounds like an interesting home remedy.

Good looking paver job. I was thinking you really need a boarder to hold the pavers in but then I realized yours is a walking path not a vehicle drive.

Thanks Dave

A bit more progress today, about 400 sf of R13, but this was roll type so had to measure and cut. Probably would have gotten more, but our former tenants came to visit and also get some banana keiki for their property. Actually, they didn't come to visit me, but the boxers.

65F and probably cloudy @ 22:45 ... just had about an hour or so of fairly steady, and at times hard, rain ... and it just started again.

I was off a little on my rainfall amounts for yesterday - looks like we got just under 0.75" of an inch. Today so far we're at 1.70" inches, including this last little burst ... so we've made up the shortfall for this month and then some.

Picked up the new motor for the Vacuflo system earlier and got it installed just before The 'Cake hit the rack.

I ended up making two trips to the place, due to bad advice from the lady there ("... everything you need is in the box" ... ahh ... apparently not ...) and my own stupidity for not opening the box while I was there to compare the old motor, which I had brought in for warranty, to the new motor.

Have to give the local shop and Vacuflo credit for standing behind their product - the lady at the local shop was quite willing to supply a replacement at no cost, although I gathered that she would have preferred that I scheduled a service call for them to come install it for a fee. The motor is the original from when the wife and I replaced the unit back in '98 ... so it was about 17 years old.

Just got done rounding up the part numbers on McMaster's website for the sprockets I'll need to rebuild the chain drive system on the Simplicity ... since it is now pretty much non-functional (unless one wants to mow in circles)

Looks to be around $100 for the 6 sprockets, if I go with the hardened ones. Could save $20 by going with the non-hardened ones ... but I'm guessing that an extra $20 would be worth not ever having to rebuild them again.

Cost for the whole sprocket assemblies (arbor and drum) from Simplicity - if they are even still available - would probably be on the order of $400 or more, based on what I was quoted the last time I checked a few years ago (could have been 10 years ... :D) ... if I'm remembering correctly.

The chain itself may end up being the really pricey item. I need around 10 1/2 feet of No. 40 ANSI roller chain ... I'd like to go with self-lubricating chain, but at around $24 per foot (from McMaster) it would break the bank.

Need to give the local Motion Industries shop a call tomorrow and see what kind of price they have on some nice Renold-Jeffery roller chain of the self-lubricating flavor.

Drew, panty hose sounds like an interesting solution.
I'm quite pleased that this current insulation doesn't seem to be the insulation of my memories. I seem to get very little on me as a quick shower takes care of it.
