I Still Hate My Tractor II

Need to raise that bad boy up and put some Monster wheels on it.

I would definitely switch to AG tires. Industrials become useless fast in the muck and stuff. AGs don't have all the "hard angles" cut in them and clean themselves much better and don't pack up as easily the R4s. For someone who invested in, #1 a Kuboater, and #2 a homebrew turbo install, switching tires shouldn't be any issue (financial or otherwise)... If you still need more traction in the muck, you can get rings and clamps and put on a second set to run duals on the rear. Again, this is nothing for folk like Fred...

Fred is the Captain Kirk of TBN! Cavalier, brilliant in his own way, willing to go where no man has gone before, able to pick up all the hottest green alien chicks...

Geez Murph I just took them off:eek:

Fred

Next time take the chains off AFTER getting past the mud hole!:confused2: As far as Fred getting all the hot green alien chicks, I believe that part might actually be true. Try some green slime on the mud and turn it to concrete. BTW, you get that thing out yet or you want me to pull it out with my Kioti?!:confused3:

You couldn't pay me to have R4s on a tractor that goes anywhere offroad. That ****'s for construction equipment.

Ever look at the load limit on R1's? Most barely have enough to carry the tractor and an empty loader. Though people do it all the time R4's usually have 4 or more times the load limit.

I think that is somewhat overstated. If they were pressed so close to the limit you'd hear of more bursts due to overloading (I've only heard of it on really old tires). I'm with Wayne64SS. If I have to go someplace recovery is difficult, I want something setup for traction. I've seen countless machines on R4s get stuck spinning tires on flat muddy construction sites. I've seen countless R1 AGs go through muck and mire dragging axles and frame like plows and make it out. There is a reason mud boggers and monster mud trucks use R1 tractor tires (or R2, which are like R1 only way more aggressive), they are made for mud.

Reminds me of the phrase, "dumber than a wagon load of mud", where "wagon load" can be replaced with "bucket", "truck load", or "acre" depending on the level of stupidity.

The simple wisdom from the movie 'Forrest Gump': 添ou have to do the best with what God gave you. Mrs. Gump

Load limits have to take into account all speeds etc. I have my fronts at max psi because i routinely lift max loader capacity. How often you go max speed at max loader capacity? never. you never do anything more than crawl. It's fine. I'll stick with the R1s, because my tractor is most often used off road/driveway conditions (read: MUD).

reality is this: look at how many tractors with R4s get stuck routinely in these conditions vs how many tractors with R1s have a tire failure.

All tires are a compromise -- there is no one perfect tire. Pick the one that best covers your priorities.

I might need Richard to bail me out here, sniff sniff.

Fred, ISHMT...I still hate my tractor

I got it.

Most of you have no idea who Fred is. You jump on like a bunch of town dogs. I'm gonna guess there aren't 4 posters on this thread that could do what Fred did to his tractor.

Then you get your panties in a wad when he posts an addition to the thread.

You guys just don't get it do you????? Fred plays you guys like a fine tuned fiddle. And most of you bite like a hungry carp. I love it.

Good job Fred!!!!! :D
