Tractor
MX5000
I have a Kubota MX5000 with a bucket LA852. It has a new battery, less than a year old. I was using the tractor a couple of days ago and it started and ran fine for a time. Turned it off and it wouldn't start again about 15 minutes later. Lights, turn signals, all way hazards, and all gauges work. Tried to jump start it but it did not respond. There was no lagging or clicking as you normally get with a dead battery. It simply seems to have no charge going to starter. Any ideas from anyone on what the cause is? Just moved to GA from AZ and have no experience with tractors, just trying to solve the problem logically. Thanks for any comments or suggestions. John.

PTO switch is engaged...probably.

I'd check:

Seat switch,
PTO switch,
Neutral,
Starter relay & wires,
Fuses.

Good luck

Probably a safety switch. We have to have all these gadgets on everything these days to protect us. I would hate for someone to hop on my 9N it has to be a really dangerous piece of equipment not the first safety warning but it does have to be in Neutral lol. My son called me Friday saying the Tractor would not start went thru the list of offs on's you know the drill. Turn's out the brake pedals were not locked together and the safety switch for the park brake would not let it start.

On my Workmaster 55, the neutral safety switch (located by the left side of the seat base) was always causing this sort of crap. No start whatsoever. Then magically it would work. I finally bypassed it. We just make sure the clutch is in before starting. No more of the dodgy starting.

Thanks, I'll give it a look see. Will try and download a manual for the tractor and see if that helps. Thanks for your time.
