I would have to agree.. Fred is a character, but he is far from a shade tree mechanic.

I got it.

Most of you have no idea who Fred is. You jump on like a bunch of town dogs. I'm gonna guess there aren't 4 posters on this thread that could do what Fred did to his tractor.

Then you get your panties in a wad when he posts an addition to the thread.

You guys just don't get it do you????? Fred plays you guys like a fine tuned fiddle. And most of you bite like a hungry carp. I love it.

Good job Fred!!!!! :D

Woop??????? So Fred has a machine shop attached to his bedroom, and never does anything without complete modification to everything. It's obvious he has high mechanical skills and LOTS of time to use them??????
I can't speak for others, but I can tell you he didn't need to turbo his bota. That's obvious from his own admission of finding out what the particular problems with wiring or relays or I don't care to remember what from his original thread!!!!
Give me access to his machine shop and I could probably do most of what he did, with the possible exception of the welding, for which I make no claim. Not bragging, just telling it like it is!!!!!!!

More importantly, people should be more concerned the Fred has and continues to fault a stellar brand tractor, when with few exceptions, he found after the fact, and I don't recall any retraction from his mostly slam tactic bogus claims about botas, R4 tires, etc. Turns out MOST of Fred rants about is his own OPERATOR ERRORS!!!!!!!!!!
Not as a fine wrench, but as a tractor driver/operator.!!!!!?????

Take a pill already! Fred did a very detailed Turbo job and got what he wanted out of it. Now he needs some real tread or chains.

If you can't weld, you surely aren't going to know what to do with the rest of the machine shop. Anyone with any machining skills is going to be able to at least throw an ugly-but-usable bead down.

I can weld, I'm just not claiming to be a welder. There is a big difference. My expertise doesn't lie in fabricating add ons; it lies in fixing foreign autos of all kinds, including but not limited to ones you've probably never seen nor heard of. What's you skill set regarding anything mechanical/electrical????

Murph - take your own advice. AND: you mumbled....
"Fred did a very detailed Turbo job and got what he wanted out of it. Now he needs some real tread or chains".

Actually what he needs to do, as I've said numerous times in this and his original thread, is learn how to drive the excellent bota tractor he already owns and stop whining how he's now back to hating it yet again because of his own inability to set realistic expectations for what he owns.

So you basically called Fred an internet Troll.

I know what he did to his tractor, read the whole thing long ago. If he had bought a tractor with the correct amount of power for whatever he wanted it to do he wouldn't have needed to turbo it. Our L3940 was bought with what it was going to be used for and has never ever had a lack of power for the job it was bought to perform. It can load a 155 bushel manure spreader, heaped, in less than 3 minutes time and time again.

Many moons ago I worked as a welder in a fabrication facility. Operated a fair share of other machines there as well. I'd not call myself a professional fabricator by any means, even when I was doing it for a living and have now been out of the biz for many years. I have however; been around enough to know, while you are correct being able to weld doesn't make one a welder, anyone with much experience around a machine/fabrication shop can put down a usable bead when needed.

The way the part of your statement read to me was that you simply couldn't weld, but could figure the rest of it out. What I was getting at was if you couldn't figure out welding a usable bead, the rest of the stuff would get overwhelming fast.

Fred on the other hand seems to have some dandy fab skills. Yes I see that Fred baits folk, but I also see some (like the shadetree comment) are also designed to bait back. Both work, both are amusing...

Keep at it Fred!!! I can't wait to read the "I hate my dually turbota" thread! :D

Hmm, seems to me this is Fred's thread. I kinda like reading his posts, his humor is odd but makes me chuckle. To each his own.

No he didn't, and no he isn't. Fred is just someone who likes to be a little outlandish with the way he presents things, the public pays entertainers millions to do such things and he's providing it for free here. He's not really much different from someone who buys a car and wants a little more power and installs a turbo or some other such add-ons. He just presents it in a bit of an outlandish/entertaining way. Those that get upset just add to the entertainment.

You're not the only L3940 owner that is happy. Fred secretly is too.
