fuel bowl crack DK35

Hi My 2006 DK35 had a fuel leak, only when running), the plastic fuel bowl has many small cracks. I shut down the engine as soon as I discovered the source and then shut the isolation petcock. Hope to replace today, question is: will the fuel system need purging?

I didn't on mine last year when I had the same crack issue. I was told to just make sure the new bowl is filled with fuel before putting it back on, though.

Don't think so, but if you do, the steps are in the manual and are straight forward.

With what you said happened, you won't need to crack the injector lines. Just fill up the fuel bowl with some fuel and mount it. Turn the valve on the mount to air and start. Run it for a few minutes then switch it to run. All should be good as if you were just changing the fuel filter.

The old style clear fuel bowls were hard and prone to cracking. (I had 1 or 2 do it myself)
The newer style replacement bowls are white and more flexible and no more problems with cracking.

Thanks for the help. I gathered there was a problem as the shop had spares. I got the parts this afternoon and should be back in the game tomorrow.

Did you get the white bowl ?
You don't want the old style clear/yellow bowl, it will just crack again.

Yes, I got a white one. I also noted that my owners manual and my service manual from Kioti does not mention anything about the fuel filter pet-cock having an "air" position, (as mentioned by VictorW in an earlier post). In any event, I will re-assemble after work today and give it a go.
