Any Utility Vehicles with Hydraulic Power Beyond?

We will be going up and down multiple times a day. The house is at the top and there is a lake at the bottom. Figured that utility vehicle + power beyond + hyd winch = cable car :)
The land can be re-graded some, but the soil is nearly pure sand so errosion will be an issue.

Several times a day??? You wouldn't need to go to the gym that's for sure. Don't forget that for every time you pull cable, you've got to hoof it up and down the hill to hook up. If it was a few times a year, sure maybe. A few times a day? No way I'd be planning on winching that.

There are lots of options for stabilizing the slope to make it drivable.

Good point. Geotextile fabric, then 12" of stone that ranges from 5" to dust would probably do the trick.

I have run into this at the lake where people live at a much higher elevation than the water and want something to get up/down with.

most have some sort of little cart that rides on a pipe rails and is lowered by winch. some are really nice and have all sorts of safety features and others were simply commercial duty winches with automatic stop points and a wireless remote in the cart. There are companies who specialize in this sort of stuff but they are pretty expensive.

From my experience with a polaris ranger in 4x4 with diffs locked is you can make it up just about anything. I certainly would not want to have to run a winch line up the hill every time I wanted to go up to the house.

A heavily modified Jeep could make it up the hill but it would throw a lot of sand.

A Jeep is what you use to tow your UTV to places that are too tough for your Jeep to navigate

I have yet to see a place a Jeep could go where a UTV couldn't, granted my Jeep was only a Rubicon Unlimited and didn't have 37" tires but the side by side has it all day on one for traction....they weigh less so they sink less and they are both 4 tires turning machines.

I had a TJ with 37s and lockers in each axle and it was wheeled in similar terrain. It would *probably* have made it up this hill.

The idea was to keep the winch line attached at the top of the hill and detach the winch if needed at the bottom to move around more. It's hard to see, but in the picture several posts ago with the hill, you can see the winch attached to the FEL bucket.

That's definitely the long term solution.

Back on the original topic of power beyond, I give up. Kubota has not been very forthcoming on the hydraulic capabilities of the rtv X900. After calling Messicks, they worked on the question for a week and finally referred me to their service center in TX. Left a message there a couple days ago and haven't heard back. Their hesitancy to confirm the capability still exists is a red flag to me. It's a shame. Out of the utility vehicles I looked at, that one seemed the closest to being a rough terrain capable UTV that could function as a hydraulic power source.

Spoke too soon. Kubota just called back and there is an aux pump option for the rtv x900. One engineering release note specs it at 3.9gpm and the other specs it at 5gpm. Both rate it at 2130psi. There are kits for the pump, a cooler, a manual valve, and a solenoid valve.

Sounds consistent with what my dealer provided me, the question is will it do what you want?
