VERY excited. First of all, THANK YOU to each of you that responded to my numerous questions and for not making me to feel like a complete newbie idiot!

I went with the Mahindra 2555 HST Cab...the "feel" of the size as I sat inside and the price (only $3k more than the 40HP Kioti was enough for me). I've attached a few pics as we got her unloaded on Friday. Since then, I've nearly 8 hours on her already, brush hogging the land. We also picked up a 6' Bush Hog (shear pin...thinking at this point, we should have gotten the slip clutch as I've already gone through 6 pins!!!!).

More pics to follow and I already have SEVERAL more questions and an issue as well!

Thanks again,

Chris...

great pics thanks for sharing

When do you usually pop a shear pin?

If it is during PTO engagement try engaging the PTO at idle and then bring the engine up to PTO rpm

Congrats on the new tractor. Looks great. And +1 to what Texan4Life said about engaging the PTO at idle. Another thing that can cause shear pins to break is if they are undersized, which causes slop and makes it easy for the mechanism to shear them.

I'm aware of engaging the PTO at idle and then raising it to 540RPM ;o) I'm breaking shear pins because of the rocks on the land. We had a driveway sub base put in last year and it especially brought up some rocks along the driveway. I've got the PTO raised to a 4 (out of 5) also and I'm still kicking up rocks. The bucket has already come in handy though. As soon as I hit a rock, we toss it into the bucket and then go dump it onto one of the 2 existing rock piles on the land...

Once you get the rocks moved, the issue with the sheer pins will be behind you. The pins may be some more work to replace, but a rusted up slip clutch can cause some issues. With a pin, you know it is going to work right assuming you use the correct bolt.

Congrats on the tractor, it looks nice.

Nice looking machine. Just curious, but I have hit many rocks with my brush hog from tractor supply and have never broke a shear pin. Do your blades swing freely. With the tractor off see how easy the blade spins on the stump bumper.

Yes, blades swing freely...
