I bought a Deere 4115 recently and when I pull up on the parking brake lever with my left foot on the brakes, I can't get it to catch. I was wondering if there is possibly an adjustment somewhere I could make. I haven't had time to look into it yet and figured I would ask if anyone else has experienced this. Chris

I have a 4100 that was experiencing the same problem. All you have to do is look under the left side foot pad. There's two pedal shafts with a pad that's underneath them with a locking nut that goes under the tractor. It's attached to the right side brake pedal. Undo the lock nut, and twist the pad upwards some. Get back in the seat, and engage to parking brake, and pull the parking lever. It should now lock.

Thanks, railman.

Saved it for future reference because I'm trading my 1025 for a 2025.

One thing that the 1025 has over the 2025 (successor to 4100, 2320) is the parking brake. Seems easier to put on and to take off on the 1025.

Try what 'railmanmat' suggests. However, I had a similar issue when my 4105 was new too.

A wee spritz of WD40 or a lanolin based lubricant on all of the linkage joints, right to the back, has corrected the problem and It's never failed to engage since.
