Its the new month and promptly after the calendar changes . . so do the Massey promotions and financing situations.

Anybody heard how the GC1700 series is effected for financing options and promo pricing?

We got our 1736 under the Equine Program last year. Talking with the dealer they shift back and forth with what group they offer deals to every couple years. Check out the Massey main web site. Someplace on there they will say who they are offering deals to and give you the specifics on how much of what you need to qualify. We got 28% which is pretty sweet. I think the offer applies to implements as well if the price is $5K and up.

I tried to get qualified for the equine discount on my gc1715 . . . But it was only $250.00 this year on my product desire and as an association member I didn't qualify because I currently don't own a horse. 28% ???? Wow thats a huge number.

Honestly the requirements aren't all that strict. We have 5 of em here although they all are old and not used commercially. We don't claim the property as a farm either. It just came down to having some acreage you could prove and having horses there. I don't think it's a minimum number they go by either nor is the acreage all that high. It pretty much comes down to really having a horse and needing something to shovel their leavings. I must say that bucket sure is fantastic compared to a wheelbarrow. that 28 percent was also on the backhoe as well:D

Well I now know the answer to the original question.

1. Financing options stayed the exact same as it was for June.

2. Massey pricing to the dealers dropped . . which means from now (not before) till the end of month . . if you purchase . . the quoted prices coming from the dealer should be lower.

I visited a MF dealer on 7-2-15. I priced a GC 1715 out the door with loaded tires and just an FEL for $13,387.00. This did include delivery, but not taxes. I just checked my paper work again before posting this.

I'm almost in shock now that I see the figures again.

I've also seen the new MF 1526. That is one heck of a tractor with nice ground clearance. They gave me a ballpark price of around $15,900.00 on it. It was so new they didn't have it in their computer system yet. Nice looking, very nice build quality.

Now, comes decision time. Too bad I can't have one of each.

I've not seen a 1526. I assume it is a compact and not a sub compact. Is it considerably larger than the GC1715?

Also regarding pricing . . typically all Massey units have 2 prices:

1. This price is the "financed" price and comes with 0% interest for 72 months I believe.

2. Price two is the so called "cash price" which is a discounted price (on a GC1715 its about $1250). However it has SEVERAL financing options between 1.99% and 3.99% for 24 months to 84 months so you can still finance it and any implements.

Do you know which prices you received? Typically in quotes I got from numerous dealers . . they always showed both price types so you'd know if you are comparing apples to apples or to oranges :)

The 1526 is a discontinued model. The entire 1500 series has been replaced with the 1700E series. I wouldn't necessarily let that stop you from considering the 1526 though. There are differences, like the 1526 has a mid pto, the 1726E does not. It also weights significantly less than the new 1700E series, which is good for mowing.

Fiziks . . . that explains alot. I checked my new brochures and product catalog and didn't see the 1500 series mentioned. So I went back and found this review from 2011. Looked like it had some nice features including 3 speeds and position control. What was/is the last new year of the 1526?

Surprised that they had a 25 hp Iseki engine in the one 1526 model . . Wonder how much different it was from the GC1715/20 engine :)

I'm not sure, but I think the 1526 was an older model that's been brought back. According to this dealer, they had just received it the day before I arrived, and had just barely gotten it prepped for sale.

Do not quote me on that. I'm just going on what I was told by the dealer.

I would say it was the finance price as that's what I stated I would do before going to visit the dealer.

But you aren't certain are you? In the salesman's memory you want to finance . . But the reality is . . Both options offer financing. At the same time . . . a GC1715 is cettainly an attractive possibility :)

No, I'm not certain. That's why I like to come to websites to compare notes. :) And, yes. The GC1715 is a very attractive possibility. Wonder if she'll think my tractor is sexy?

Ever notice how red is always ready for approval. Get her sitting on it. Catchy looking front styling seems to elicit approvals I think. :)

There is a chance I am wrong, but I thought the 1500 and 1600 series were replaced with the 1700e and 1700 respectively.

In any case, I believe the engine on the 1526 was larger displacement than the engine in the GC series (1.5 liters vs 1.1). The new 1726e also uses a 1.5 liter, but its shibura engine instead of iseki. I would be willing to be there are still new 1526 available out there.

Would be nice if they brought back the 1500 series, or introduced something new on a similar size. I am considering going up a size, but the 1726e is too heavy for me. Its around 2600 lbs vs 1800 lbs for the 1534. As as mentioned, no mid pto on the 1700e. No massey option in that weight/size range with available MMM would push me into a Kubota B series or JD 2 series. What's dealer had the new 1534...? Maybe I'll buy it!

Fiziksgeek, you could be correct, I don't know for sure. The dealer told me it was a new 1526 tractor they had just received. If it wasn't new, then someone did a bang up job of refurbishing it. It looked so new under the hood, chassis, and everywhere else, I couldn't tell it wasn't new.

I did take a few photos of it. I'll try to post them here so you can see. IMHO, it is a super nice tractor for the price. I'm hung on a fence now between it and the GC1715. I need the utility of the 1526, but I need the low center of gravity of the 1715. Decisions, decisions, decisions. Don't you just hate things like that? :confused2::rolleyes:

It is located in Virginia though. Just a FYI.

I am sure there are still new 1500 series tractors out there. Could even have come from another dealer.

I remember seeing 1500 series at my dealer when I was test driving my CG2400. Depending on your needs, its more capability for a little more cost. But I would definitely compare them to other tractors of the same size form other brands. The new Kubota B series are strong contenders IMO. The 1526 is about the size of a B2650, maybe even a touch bigger. Kubota has the B2301/2601 in the middle if you feel you might need a touch more capability.

Oh, I like the 1526 a great deal. When I sat on it, it felt like a friendly pair of gloves or favorite pair of shoes. For me, it was a modern day version of my Farmall Cub, only a whole lot better.

My big issue with it is the height ground wise and trying to use it around the pond. There are some steep areas and soft ones too due to ground water that make me edgy (no pun intended) using a tractor that tall.

I could definitely use it in other areas, but I need something with more utility around the pond. Much of the information I'm getting points me to the GC 1715. Great comments from folks here about this little tractor have helped a lot.

Another thing to consider if the 1500 series unit you saw is a "hold over". Assuming the unit is new and not used . . it would have a new unit warranty . . . however the warranty would be a different one from the GC1700 series which got the extended coverage addition.

I was a little surprised in reading the one review of the unit for the 2011 model I prior linked. Apparently the 1500 series models had engines that went from 25 to 59 hp . . . seems like a very wide spread of sizes . . unless the reviewer had it wrong.

The 1500 series went all the way from 22-59 hp. Models 1523 up to 1560. Had 3 or 4 frame sizes I think.
