Buying Advice Anyone Regret buying a Tractor with a Cab?

I sure enjoyed my cab yesterday when I was moving several cubic yards of dirt to fill in a very deep washed out pond overflow ditch from the spring floods. Nice in the cab with 95F outside. Hated to finish up and have to get out of the cab and get on the Kubota B26 for some backhoe smoothing of the dirt and rock which my brother in law had dumped on top of my soil backfill. I don't think I would like a cab on my TLB just because of the restricted vision. One needs all he can get using a hoe.

No hate for my cab tractor.I was at my friends cabin located in Northen Michigan the past few days brush hogging and low and behold never got bit by a mosquito or black fly with my cab tractor.Did I mention I love the air condition and stereo.Sounds to me you might be a little rough on your cab tractor.A open station tractor might be a better choice for you verses a cab model.

I dont hate mine either. As I said the proof will be this winter when I'm plowing snow and in my nice and toasty cab. I had to make a few adjustments while mowing as well as prune some limbs back. Its all good.!!

Have any of you ever removed the cab? I work a lot in the woods and cabs would, frankly, get in the way. However, I would want to put it back on during the winter for snow removal. Any thoughts? Is there something to worry about if I removed the cab for the summer?

Absolutely no regrets here, but I did keep my Ford open station for jobs where low clearance is an issue.

Removing a factory cab is not an option. What with freon lines and such going to ac and heater lines. Other cabs like soft sides and non a/c sims cabs should be no problem. I operate mine in 20 acres of trees. But i made a trail system years prior to walk dogs and drive my horses, so trees are not an issue for me

Do they make tractors without cabs?! I thought all those naked tractors at the dealer were just waiting for their tops to be put on.....

And yes, frankly cabs can get in the way, of falling and slapping limbs and trees that can poke your eyes out or kill you. I use my tractor in the woods all the time and wouldn't do it any other way. Much cheaper to replace a piece of glass than your vision. Not to mention all the biting and stinging critters.

So I've exhausted the "professional glass replacement" places as well as a few local shops. No one wants to touch replacing the glass. So am I left to have the dealer do it? I hear dollar signs......Mike

My only regret is that I was extremely careless on Saturday when in a hurry and ripped the radio antenna off my cab. When it ripped off, the weak point was the plastic top of the cab, so now I've got about a 1" diameter hole in the side of the top of my cab. I'm going to try to fashion a patch to fix the hole, and then remount the antenna somewhere else.

It was completely my own fault. I had a 2" and a 3" water pump going and was hurrying to knock some trees down so I could refill the water pumps with gas before they ran out. A tree limb got wedged in between the backside of the antenna and the cab, and when I backed up, something had to give.

I did that within the first 50 hours or so of use. That is a sad excuse for a top of a cab so when the antenna broke out of mine I used heavy black electrical tape and taped it to the side of the cab. Been that way for 2 years now. Looks factory! If I were to fix it it would just get broke out again. Don't have to worry about it this way. CJ
