I was wondering if somebody could decipher the numbers that are being displayed on my '09 LTX 1040.

This is what is lit up on the gauge when the motor is running.

I understand from what I've read that the oil light remains on for 2-5 hrs after it comes on and/or an oil change.

Do I have 1508, 508, 150.8 or 50.8 hrs? And/or is that '1' representing something else?
Previous owner bought new and only mowed 1/2 acre or less at a time.

Maintenance required? Checked owner's manual?

The hour meter is indicating 50.8 hours. Is the oil light lit while running or do you just have the ignition turned on without it running? An oil change is indicated by alternately flashing OIL and CHG with the hours.

Engine is running.

When I turn the key on, 'oil chg' will flash, and then the hours will be displayed. When I start the motor, the oil light stays on.
I read/researched that the 'oil light' will remain on for 2 hrs once you get the 'oil 'chg' icon on the display. The light will automatically reset and turn itself off at that point....that is what the research tells me by reading it in the manual somewhere and online.

50.8 hrs seems more accurate. Bought the mower from a neighbor who was the original owner, with a very small yard.

What's that '1' on the display I wonder?

I was unable to find anything about the "1" being displayed, if it's really a one. Maybe it means the 1st oil change. If it changes to a "2" the next one you'll know<g>.
