Another solution may be a cultivator tractor and a conventional utility tractor for the heavy work.

i have never owned or operated a tractor - total newbie, which is why I came here as I knew from talking to friends who DO own tractors that this is a good place for information. I am taking this slow, doing a lot of research.
First, a Utility tractor is more like 50HP+. The BX is a Sub Compact Utility Tractor, and from about 25HP up to 45 or so is a Compact Utility Tractor.
Second, for any ground engaging work on a consistent basis you need at least 35HP. A BX or B just aren't going to cut it.
Start looking at more HP, and expand your search to all brands.
Yes, at least the 2501, the 3301 is in the 35HP class, but still a little small.
To all you people out there consistently running ground engagement equipment with 34 HP or less.....STOP!!!!! You shouldn't be doing it! Dang it! Now I have to sell my tractor I used to be perfectly happy with.
Just kidding.......to a degree.
Two tractors is not reasonable for the OP, who has never operated a tractor and has a limited budget. OP needs money for implements after he buys the tractor.
My point is, if the OP wants to do small scale farming, even on 7 acres, 25HP isn't going to handle that comfortably. Turning over a garden a couple times a year is completely different, easily within the capabilities of a small CUT.
was one of the criteria SWMBO and I put down before I bought:dont want to spend more than $15,000
