Todays pic shows the finished wheely bars. Nothing fancy but much safer. Now I pulled the Bolens Frame Steer in the shop to try to re wire it. It never had a switch and some wires were missing. I started it by jumping it at the battery. My new switch has a Acc, Ign, Batt, and a ground . So hopefully I can figure out how to make it work ?? Not so good at wiring.

I worked more on the wiring on the Bolens Frame Steer but still no luck . Tomorrow I will draw a diagram and see if someone can point me in the right direction who knows more about wiring .

Here is my wiring diagram, anyone whop knows basic wiring should be able to connect the letters in 15 minutes. That is not me , ha,ha. Any help would be great. Have a great 4th of July !!

Today I tore apart the 11 hp Industrial/ Commercial Briggs . The coil has no spark. I must have fried it a couple weeks ago when I touched a hot wire to the wrong connection. I have a new coil ordered and I am going to just install a simple push button start switch with a toggle for the kill switch. Much easier way to go. I have spent more time working on this Bolens Frame steer than any other machine I have. But I have also learned more with this machine so it is all good. I love driving it and I really want to plow some snow with it. I welded the rear axle solid for positrac so with some rear chains I think it would push several inches of lighter snow.

For your wiring diagram we would need a little better info on what we are hooking together. ie Which model of solenoid? being as there are multiple ways for the terminals to be labeled in that configuration.

It may help to take pictures of each component and post them. Also what color (if different) are the wires out of the starter?

It is not a super complicated hook up, but as you have already found out it only takes a moment of hooking the right wire to the wrong spot to "let the smoke out".

As a start on the solenoid (basically a big relay) the two big terminals are not + and -, one side is input the other side is output. Two of the smaller terminals will be the control circuit, which will consist of a + and a -. The third solenoid could be power out or ....?

Looks just like the engine in my Craftsman LT. The wire going to the throttle area is the kill. Make sure it's not grounding anywhere that it shouldn't be.

The new coil arrived and i got it re installed and it fired right up. I figured out the wiring and it works great !! Here are pics of all 16 tractors and all 10 trailers in my back yard for the very first time plus my grandsons JD Jeep . Still had room for the motorhome , ha,ha.

Would you believe the spark quit on my Simplicity/Deere Hot Rod Tractor ? It looks a little tricky to locate a replacement coil for this. I cleaned and inspected it .

Deb posted 10 of my tractors for sale today on Craigslist , even my 3 round fender 110's , the narrow front jd 730 and the 4x4 articulating jd 9630 . It's time to try to get more room so I can get back to building new projects. If they don't sell that is fine too as I do enjoy them. I will just pack them away back in the back shed , the garage and the workshop again this winter.
