Silverado gets new facelift for 2016

My buddy has a '12 Chevy HD fancy model (can't remember the nomenclature). The interior makes my '00 Super Duty Lariat look like a Cadillac.

I think the High Country is the top of the line model now. It's similar to GMC's Denali trim.

So it must be their mechanical superiority that sells so many Fords??

I think it's the fact they include their larger trucks (F-Series) in the sales #'s. I *thought* I've heard that for the 1500/F-150 lines, the sales are incredibly closer and Chevy has higher #'s or it goes back and forth. Would love to see that in print again somewhere though.

And someone commented on Chevy "recently" going to the squared fender wells...If "recent" is the 1973 changeover (I prefer the 68-72 trucks myself), then you would be correct. But we might want to talk with you on your concept of "recent"... ;oP

I think the High Country is the top of the line model now. It's similar to GMC's Denali trim.

LS, LT and LTZ are Trims. If Chevy is pushing High Country like the GMC Denali, then it's a "sub-model" or stands on it's own. WAY out of my budget, regardless!

Yeah, numbers are easy to skew. But, I think you'll see 2 F150s for each Chevy 1500 you see. There's so darned many newer F150s around here that I can hardly stand to look at them. The other day I drove thru the small town near my farm, where there's a "coffee shop" for the wanna be farmers. There were 3 newer F150s the same red color. 2 were identical. 1 at least was unique cause it was a straight cab.

The July sales figures show 55k Fords (F-Series) to 51k Chevy's....so the 2-1 ratio may fit where you're at, but not everywhere.

I'm a GM "guy" (owned a Chrysler Concorde LXi once) and I test drove a Ford F-150, but ended up getting a 2013 Silverado Z-71 Ext Cab in LT trim. I DO regret not getting the LTZ trim...and realistically the Crew Cab. Perhaps I'll wait till the 2016's are at this time frame here and get one with the new nose job...cause it's better than the 14/15's. I've always seemed to like the GMC's grilles better...but I'll wait till I see it in person.

Love the debates/back and forth though!

I prefer GMC's too. Have since I saw a 1967 GMC pickup.
