I just wish I had my game cam set on video the first 2 times the coon got caught in the coon trap. All I have are still photos of another coon approaching the trap and then an empty trap. So it is evident that the 2nd coon let the first one out both times but I sure would have liked to have seen how he did it.

I wanted to show some more photos but this site has been unable to load new photos for the last few days. Maybe Mohammed will get it fixed soon.

These two baby coon tamed very easy once we started bottle feeding them but I'm not keeping them as I have raised some coon over the years and know how they act after they reach maturity.
I have re-homed one of them already and think I found a place for the other one.

I read an interesting article once on "tamed" vs. "domesticated". Almost any animal can be tamed but there is apparently something in the genetic makeup that prevents domestication. A cat is domesticated but a coon can never be more than tamed. Horses can be domesticated but zebras have never been. Cattle are domesticated but buffalo can't be.

I have my doubts about house cats.... I think they just tolerate us for the food and head scratches.

My future cousin-in-law gave me a baby male coon he caught. He said the females were rougher than the males. I kept him in a cage behind the garage. My brother let him out to climb a tree in the backyard. A storm came up and my brother went inside. I never saw my coon again. Enjoy them while they are little, then let them be free.
hugs, Brandi
