Price Check Help with valuation/pricing.

I am selling my one year old Kubota BX2370. I simply don't use it enough to justify keeping it. I have a Hustler that I have been using to cut the lawn and think I will merge the two machines into one Grasshopper.

Since the machine has <40hrs, and a lot of equipment, I am unsure as to where to start the price.

I have a FEL(with BXPanded Tooth Bar) and quick disconnect bucket FEL
60" MM deck with mulch kit
New Land Pride SB 1050 3 point snowblower
Kubota dozer blade with hydraulics
ballast box
2" wheel spacers
under armor(BXPanded)
LED work lights

I was offered $14 K for a trade in on a new Grasshopper...but, I have a line on a used one I would like to purchase and would like some pricing guidance. Obviously the dealer needs to make money...so, is $14K too low for a starting price?

I also would welcome any and all thoughts on a Grasshopper with a Kubota diesel engine. I have a very flat, but very long driveway(about 850 feet) that I would like to either plow or snow blow with the GH. Is this reasonable?

Interesting problem to have... I have no experience with selling such new equipment, and more to the point, something with all those expensive (but useful, for the right buyer) add-ons. What if you took the cost of everything and tried to reduce it enough that a reasonable person would be interested in buying for cash, almost new but still, used? If you had invested, say, $21,000, (just guessing, obviously) then maybe someone would be okay paying $17,000 for it? $14,000 sounded low to me, but then again, I am not really familiar with the BX2370.
Many of us here would find your progress in this interesting to follow, I am sure. Oxford?? UK?

Thanks for the reply. I guess the "gap" between new and "almost" new is what I am having a problem quantifying. I also need to find the right avenue to sell it as Craigslist tends to bring out the worst in many situations.

True enough... shiny new always gets a premium... drive it off the lot and ouch. And the 0 down 0 interest is a big factor (was for me). That said, add up your investment and discount it a significant amount below what someone would have to pay in interest for a consumer loan over 5 years to buy your stuff compared to new and show them your numbers. You have to be a salesman if you want to get the most out of your tractor and accessories.

Robert, before I gave all those goodies away for $14,000, I would make sure it is clean, take some good photos of the tractor and its accessories, and post it for sale on Craig's List. I have sold two used, clean Kubotas that way, for fair prices for both me and the buyer. In looking at Tractorhouse.com, I see that BX2370's sell for less than I guessed, but still, with your collection of attachments, I would think you could get $15,500 or so. Or make someone's day (month?) by letting it go for $14K.

If you can get $14K in trade then I would jack your price above that... or you might as well save some time and hassle and just trade it in. Try $15.5K and drop it to $15K to make the deal. If that doesn't work then trade it in.

The reason I wasn't wanting to do the trade is that I was looking to be a used machine from a private owner. The only way for me to get the 14K on trade would be to buy a new GH from the dealer.

I would depreciate the total cost by 20% and if you can get that it is a pretty good deal for you the seller. If the trade in depreciates your investment by 30% or more the buyer is getting a very good deal
