All-
I tried the search function for this but came up empty.

Got most of the way through my 50 hour maintenance last week...everything but the transmission / hydraulic fluid & filters. Figured out that I didn't have a socket large enough to remove the drain plugs and was hoping someone can tell me what size I need to buy since the tractor is 100+ miles away. For that matter, if anyone can tell me the sizes I need above 26mm I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S.- for anyone who may be considering a Kioti utility tractor, I've got nothing but rave reviews for mine. It has exceeded all expectations and I'm very happy that I "stumbled" onto them while I was comparing Mahindra, Deere, Kubota, and New Holland. I'm sure those are all good too but I can't imagine they come close to Kioti's bang for the buck.

Just completed my 300 hour change, transmission and engine, and a 15/16 fits the axle drains and a 1 3/16 works on the main drain. Metric would be 24 and 30. I caught the axle one at a time in a three gal bucket and had to use two buckets for the main. amount drained was a little over 2 1/2 from the axle and almost 5 from the main. Hope this helps.

Yes, helps very much. Now I think the only issues I have to deal with are removing the filters (just going by everything I've read about factory over-tight filters) and disposing of the used fluid. Auto place close to our property has got new rules on what they will take, and have a limit of 5 gallons a day.

Thanks again for your help.

I bought a 5 gal blue kerosene jug and then use a couple of three gal open buckets. Those three held all of the old oil and then pour the old oil back into the new empty containers. I bought new oil in both a 5 gal and 2 1/2 gal containers. The 2 1/2 are a lot easier to pour out of. Be sure to tack the vent plug out above the dipstick.

If I remember correctly. The drain plugs practically u stewed by hand. Not very tight at all. The assemblers were probably tired from overtightning the hydro filters lol. I'm sure a crescent wrench would loosen them quite easily with no rounding of the edges.

Yes, you want to be very careful not to strip the aluminum threads in the oil pan. I use a small crescent wrench made by Channellock that opens wide and has fairly narrow jaws. I find it easier to judge the firm, but not loose torque to tighten the oil drain plugs.

I cut the bottom third off a 30 gallon oil drum so it just fits under the tractor to handle hydraulic fluid changes. It lets me drain it all at once and then transfer that oil to a storage barrel.

I did notice that with the front axle...was very surprised at how loose the drain, fill, and check plugs were installed. Oil pan drains were pretty snug, but I didn't even check the hydraulic drain plugs (other than having my kid try to make a 26mm socket fit on what was apparently a 30mm plug).

Having never done a hydraulic fluid service before...will the "spent" fluid look just like used motor oil?

Thanks for the ongoing help.

My hydro fluid looked new, very clear.

1-1/8" is the same as 30mm as I recall.

sort of like 7/8" is basically the same as 22mm.

The fluid will not be any where near as black as used motor oil.
