YM2220D - Size of fuel return line?

Have a leak in the fuel return line and need to replace about 6" of that very small tubing. I could take the line off and go over to the local part store but they always want to know the make and model of my vehicle and give me a wide eyed deer in the headlights stare when I say that it is for my tractor. Easier to have an exact size first and avoid the awkwardness of that moment.

I took mine into my local Napa store and they matched it up to the rolls behind the counter. It was only a few cents a foot.

Not sure of the size,,Best I remember it is an odd size...they have it here Yanmar Tractor Parts SMALL FUEL RETURN HOSE - SOLD BY THE FOOT..I would also take it and have it matched up..

NAPA had what I needed. Theirs is heavier wall than Yanmars, otherwise identical. I think they call it vacuum/smog hose, the smaller of two sizes they stock.

How have you found it? I bought the same thing for both of mine but both have now gone mushy and bloated requiring replacement after a couple of years. It needs to be fuel hose ideally but you can't buy it that small.

SO just replace it , its not $0.50 a foot is it? and you dont even need a foot.

I replaced some on mine as well and its not mushy and i am sure mine was just vaccume line, i hear that deisel does that to regular fuel or air line. That smog hose is use to haveing oil in it though from bad running cars but not constant diesel flow.

I ended up with the same problem using that non fuel rated hose.. I had to buy hose rated for gasoline..It's been a while back, but,,I believe I actually got mine at a lawnmower shop..

I only have a 4" piece of fuel line that's Org. between the Inj. and painted so no markings. Then Hard Plastic line to the Tank that won't soften up or break for that matter. It was Heated to get it on the Inj. Return.
