Something isn't right here. There is no way you should have that issue unless a filter is plugged (air filter too), the hydro fluid is too low or you are in high gear.

Dealer is blowing smoke up your uncle's butt. Go test a similar model off their lot. Does it behave the same? NO? Then there is a problem with his tractor, which needs to be fixed under warranty.
All this is assuming the proper maintenance has been performed to date. This problem won't fix itself.

I think looking at the HST is the wrong place to look. The OP is saying the engine dies to quick and low power, If the HST is soaking up the power instead of putting it to the wheel there should be some nose or something coming from the transmission. Having the remote hyd on might be taking the power?

When you tried to move did you push the pedal all the way to the floor. These machines only have power at the top of the stroke and get higher geared the more you push on the forward pedal. Maybe you were just doing it wrong. My ck20 wont even move with the pedal to the floor. Push it down 1 inch though and it will knock down a house. You should try it again before (repairing) anything.

If the hydraulic pump is deadheading, that would make the tractor want to stall. This could happen with an open remote into a dead-end hose, an improperly seated hydraulic connector, or if there is blockage (or severe restriction) in the tranny or fluid circulation path.

I have the CK30hst, 2004 model year with R4 tires. If I do a test like the OP did, up against something solid and slowly push the pedal down, my tires will spin on dry pavement and at 2300-2400 engine rpm. 3000rpm not needed. The OP advised that the engine in his uncle's tractor will lug down until it stalls. The hst tranny, I would assume, is working well and is putting enough force on the engine to stall it. I realize the CK25hst is 25hp vs my 30hp but I would think still enough power to spin the wheels. Maybe it's time for a little engine maintenance.

The tractor was in low range when trying to push the stump. It was in high range when I was driving on the relatively flat road. I think the engine has adequate power. The tractor has loaded r4 tires and a bush hog on the 3 point hitch. It doesn't have rear remotes on it. I doubt the tractor has had any maintenance except the engine oil changed. The tractor has NEVER worked any better which leads me to believe it's a defective transmission.
