Power Steering Cylinder Leaks

My family owns three (two BX2200 and a BX2230) 4wd Kubotas. Two of the three have leaking power steering cylinders. Mine started leaking when it was about 20 degrees outside and I began doing snow removal. It stopped leaking after some warm up and TLC. Only minor seepage since.

The other one was not cold weather. Just leaks.

I'd like to get a feel from the readers how common these steering cylinder leaks are on the small Kubotas. They look relatively easy to get at and remove and there is a rebuild company not too far from here.

BY THE WAY: The choices for "Topic" in these TractorByNet forums are poor. Hydraulics is not listed. Neither are several common areas of interest.

Travlitt: Maybe you are looking somewhere else. Under Forums, Kubota Owning and Operating, Post New Thread and then in the window for your Message (starting up the Thread) the first field is "Topic." When you hit the down arrow or karat, it offers these choices and no others:

Traction, Chains, Winches, Oil and Fuel, Ballast, Loader, Backhoe, Dirt Moving, Canopy, Snow, Mowing, 3-Pt Hitch, Tires, Insurance , Security and Theft, Grading .

Hydraulics nor anything relating directly to it is mentioned or offered. I contend that something like Hydraulics, Transmissions, Steering, and Implement Compatibility are all more relevant in this forum than Insurance and Theft.

it happens take it off and get it rebuilt, don't need all of them choices type in your problem and someone will offer their 2 cents
