Kioti DK35se Hydrostat
Wifey calls about 3:30 today and sez "I mowed the lawn today and we need better tires on that thing" OK, the little JD lawn tractor has factory turfs with 43 hours on them. Not the best tires in the world but they don't tear up the lawn either. She then advised that she made some rather deep holes on the ramp to the barn. Yep when I got home there were some good ones alright, about 9 inches deep I would reckon. Gravel was thrown up all over the top of the deck etc.

It is a pretty steep ramp and it is just gravel, but I have always gotten a little run at it, and went right up without much problem. We always go up it backward so the it is oriented right for the solar charging port on the back of the little tractor, and also it is just much easier to drive it out going forward. to miss the little wellhouse at the end of the ramp.

Anyway I fixed it in a couple of minutes with the Kioti, and actually I thought it was pretty funny. She said when she got stuck, she became a little peeved, and just shoved the hydro pedal to the floor and it was on its way to china pretty quickly. Sometimes I guess women just think a little differently. (some guys do too!). Here is the results of her handiwork. The pix, doesn't really look that bad, it was a bit worse in person.

The tractor stayed upright and nothing got broke. That's a win in my book anyday!

Wait. Wait. Wait. Back up a minute. She voluntarily mowed?! I have absolutely NO sympathy for you. None. :)

That ramp doesn't look that steep. That is pretty funny, and it is amazing how many people get a little wheel slippage and floor it.

Yep, and she mowed the front yard, completely... She got 90 percent of the nasty side yard, she chickened out on the really nasty steep parts... she can't stand them bad angles. And she did a little of the "rock yard". Again she don't like them nasty angled areas. She is a good girl.

Hold up! My wife volunteers to do the lawn at times...but mowing in a straight line is an ENTIRELY different discussion!

If you can get her to weed eat you have really done something.

By the looks of the tread marks in your photo, James, I take it that you're not in the market for new tyres for the little JD?

Hey James, you had better bottle that gal as she is worth millions. If I even hint about the little lady mowing, she starts laughing like I said something funny.

have a hill coming up out of the pasture, that goes up side of dam on a lake. the area is fairly well shaded. bust still grows lots of grass. folks love to just stomp on the stinking peddle to spin there tires up it. i get in vehicle. get a little run for it. and hope i can adjust my foot just barely enough to keep the wheels moving, but never actual "spinning the wheels out" and i generally can get all the way up it without problems.

some very wet days, wrong set of tires, issues with weight on car/truck not good" and can make it 1/2 to 3/4 way up. and may have to back down hill and repeat.

i just do not understand why folks, "push peddle down" and try to do a burn out. it is like it is written into there minds. and no way to get around it.
