Tractor
kubota l3940
I consider myself a novice with tractors and have been using one since 2001. Started with Massey 235 and now have Kubota L3940 with big bee 5 foot bush hog.
I do usual oil checks, grease and inspect before use. I have 152 hours on tractor . I appreciate any advise.

Thanks

Neal

Welcome to TBN, Neal - nice tractor!
Checking oil, grease, and other fluids, as you mentioned, should keep you from most difficulties.
Check the torque on your wheel lug nuts & FEL subframe at some regular interval - they can work loo$e over time.
Get yourself some Fluid Film for PTO spline and other moving/sliding things that don't have grease fittings.
Fluid Film® | Corrosion Preventative, Lubricant and Rust Inhibitor
I use Permatex 80078 Anti-Seize on bolt threads (but not on head bolts) and most snaps (tight fits) whenever I put something back together so it cames apart without "language" the next time I need to service it.

Welcome Neal.

I do the above mentioned and blow out the dust and stuff after a days work. I wipe mine down weekly and this gives me a close look at most every thing for seepage or loose bolts. Good luck with your tractor.

Question, I have 152 hours on L3940, had to have service at 109 hours due to starting, had service fluids , filters changed at 109 hours replaced battery, mice had eaten some wiring and starter replaced. Now at 152 + hours have service inspect on dash, checked oil, cleaned radiator screen, looked at all attachements made certain had greased all, ran tractor and bush hog to clear pasture, no problems. advice? I m a novice here and enjoy the tractor and tend to follow the pucker factor rule when on my tractor.

Mine comes on every 50 hours no matter the hours it was serviced and reset.

I'm not sure if the tail lights had changed from the 30 to the 40 series or not but even if your tail lights are not blown I'd recommend pulling them out and at least spray or dilectric grease the ports for the bulbs every year or so. That will keep it to a 3 minute job to change bulbs instead of a 3 hour job to clean corrosion and get the ports to spring load the bulb again.
