All very well coordinated. Real foggy morning with flights cancelled, etc. but took the video anyway. (Video made with my security camera)

Nice to see someone actually capable of doing their job.

Good coordination makes quick work of it.
Here in the USA this would have been a two to three day job with gov workers.

Took the gov twenty-one years to build eight miles of the canal route in Wichita, KS.

Interesting. Given the months of planning, plus all the equipment and staff on the job site that was probably a $20,000 or $30,000 dollar job. At least it would be up our way. Good job though as they didn't leave gravel on the road.

Looks like those guys knew what they were doing. I thought the title of your post, "gravelling road shoulders" was interesting, though, when the John Denver video came up next, the first thing I thought was he was going to sing "Sunshine on my shoulders".

These idiots in Kansas use this stuff we call chip and seal. It is basically small gravel spread on top of fresh oil. The gravel is loose for weeks before it is either thrown off the side or ground into the old pavement. Makes riding a motorcycle very interesting.

Most of our roads around here are made of that stuff. Try it on a bicycle.

Cheap way for gov officials to kick the road repair can down the road and spend the money on their pet projects. Then call for more taxes to repair the roads.
Kinda like the waste of money on hot-tar sealing asphalt roads. Cracks are back in two-three days. That sealer spray is also a waste of time and money.

They spread gravel here when the dropoff at the asphalt edge gets to be too much, but I've never seen it rolled or packed.
