Mowing Kubota BX2200 Mowing Deck not raising

I have a Kubota BX2200 that no longer raises the mowing deck on the left side. My father-in-law used to use the mowing deck to step on to get onto & off of the tractor but only recently has the left side failed to raise when the mowing deck is raised. I suspect that a set screw has been broken or come lose but cannot figure out how to get to anything without tearing the whole rear end apart. Anyone with any suggestions?

Look under your deck on the left side to see if the lift arm is broken. The 3PH raises the deck via a rod, so if one side goes up, no need to tear anything in the back end.

When the mowing deck is OFF, the arms on both sides go up but with the mowing deck on (which is heavy) the arm on the left does not goes up so nothing externally is broken. I am about to attempt to pull that rod (that has the arms attached to it) out but am concerned about what it might be attached to internally and cannot find a diagram of that area of the tractor that I can easily see / recognize parts, etc.

If I recall, there is a bolt that goes through the base of those lift arms. If it lifts one side but not the other and the arms are intact, that's the only thing that makes sense. The shaft that goes between them is an inch thick, I can't imagine you somehow broke that.

What Ray said, he's done a lot of work on them. Once you get down there, that part is not all that complicated. I put mine up in the air on ramps or jacks, makes everything a lot easier to see.

You can get a parts diagram from Messicks which can help a lot in understanding the mechanism.

There is a lift arm on the left rear of the deck about 8" long. It transfers the lift from the right side to the left. Check the pin to make sure it has not sheared.

The pin is about 3/8" in diameter.
