Yes they may be a little close ... wont nothing escape!!!!! I'm running a Hypertherm PM 65... My table is 5x10 ... I upgraded the entire system just a couple months ago ... went with candcnc ethercut ... that gave me DTHC and feather touch

Sounds like a nice setup. I'm totally jealous!

Nice build:thumbsup:

Thank you sir .... I put it on the tractor yesterday and went out brush hogging .... OMG what a tool!!! I was cleaning up along fence lines ...I had 2 scrub oaks in the hay pasture about 6" in diameter and I thought let me see if I can get them out. Popped those suckers right out toted them down to the bottom came back and raked the area ... never left the tractor seat!!!

I'll bet! I've been thinking about building my own CNC table, and am torn between ball screw, or gear rack for the axis'. Is yours gear rack? Servo or stepper? I'm a CNC mechanic, and either will be easy enough to build, but it's always nice to hear feedback for this application. The stuff I work on uses ball screw, but it's for wood applications, and never sees slag, or sparks. Also, how easy is that user interface to program? I'm just the mechanic, not a programmer, and will need a really easy to use system. Ha ha

Thanks!

Mine is gear and stepper .... I've learned alot in the past year or so!! I bought an inexpensive table and inexpensive plasma thinking ah heck how hard can it be ... man was I wrong. My update to Hypertherm along with candcnc although costly was well worth it.

I did not have to actually program anything ... almost plug and play. The manuals that came with the upgrades are awesome ... BUT I do have a computer savy friend and that really helps.

It has opened an entire new world in the mfg'ing of things ... my next build is a subsoiler!!!

That's awesome! I was kind of leaning towards gear rack and stepper. Servo is great, but requires a large pocketbook to obtain. The Amp/drives alone are 2k per axis, for Parker or Lenze. I'll be looking into candcnc as I get closer to the build. Sounds like something I can handle. Once I finish the barn, goat pen and shelter, get a bigger tractor, hay equipment, finish the fence, and fill in the pond... I'll be starting the build! Ha ha
