Do you use your tractor in hilly terrain? Do you feel like the center of gravity has been significantly raised? I really want to something like this but I really don't want the underside of my tractor getting a sunburn either.

The "lid" is prolly about 200 lbs. and the additonal framework is not much, 12' or so of 2x3 quarter inch wall tube. I do work on hills and that much weight on a 5 ton tractor does not mean much. FWIW I added about 500 lbs. to the bottom of the tractor with a full .25" skid plate from the front axle to the rear axle on a previous project.

Your tractor is a lot heavier than mine but my lid probably won't be quited that heavy. I would like to do a skid plate also. With low carried ballast and loaded tires and common sense I think I will do all right.

Awesome build! I love everything you did. This makes me feel like I a total slacker, as I still haven't fixed my flashers.. They haven't worked since I bought the thing. Ha ha
