Good morning!!!!

Good morning. The sun is shining and the wind is putting a good bend on the trees.

This week I was expecting to pick up the oil filters I had ordered and get some more engine and hyraulic oil. Unknown to me, after I placed the order, the dealer had being doing some checking with the uk distributor. He rang to let me know that after I bought my Iseki, the service intervals have been extended and they can be applied to my machine too, so nothing to buy after all for another 100 hours.

A copy of the new user manual showing the revised service intervals also came yesterday in an email. Think I have a very good dealer who does what it takes to create long term customers. It would have been easy for them to just take my money.

Eric, that's good to hear. I don't know what the new service interval is but if more than 150 hours for oil changes, I wonder...but I"m pretty old fashioned about this. I have read some diesels are up to 250 hours. On a farm tractor used constantly, I guess I can see those longer intervals. For most of us 100-150 hours is a lot for a year, and we just change oil once a year.

I had a truck with a 7500 mile oil change interval and the dealer put a sticker on the windshield telling me to come back at 5000. When I asked why, just rolled eyes. A dealer not as forthcoming as Eric's for sure.

Rained so hard last night it woke me up. My newly functioning rain gauge said I got just over an inch here but the area report is two inches. Local farmers are trying to begin the harvest of feed corn and these rains might make for some interesting field experiences. For me, just more grass to mow; that's todays chore anyway. At least it sure won't be dusty out there after a big rain.

65 going to only 83. Clear as a bell outside...nice stars...after a small rain last night.

I got my bush-hogged sunflower field tilled yesterday. I was rained on twice and had to make a run for cover...just brief showers, then sun. Finally got it planted at dusk with a mix of oats, clover, rye, and brassica. Good winter cover crop and food for deer.

Billie, what do you use for a planter? If I ever get to buy the acre next door, and have a tiny bit of real farm field, I need to plant something in it.
Lot of light duty options, then it seems to get seriously expensive very quickly. if you bushhogged it and then planted, I'm assuming you are using some form of drill?
Never done this, want to, have a lot to learn.

oops, misread, you said tilled. Rototiller on the tractor? That's the route I figured I would go, but then I need a planter.

62 this morning and headed to 81 today. Rain chances start this afternoon. Hopefully be out by morning.

Metal for roof on building supposed to be in today. So go pick that up. Need some double bubble to put under it. Stops the sweating. But first move a tractor and start washing the chicken houses.

Drew. For just an acre. A disk and broadcast spreader is what I'd use. Maybe a cultipacker.

Kev. You headed for Texas this weekend. Or did you talk her down.

Good morning all, 59F heading to 67F. Would have been a beautiful bike ride to work today if only my brain could convince my body to do it. After taking a few days off from riding because of the weather, it is hard to get back on the bike.:ashamed:
