Ag tires on backward?

The Fred sort of has one of two reasons that I have mounted AG tires reversed on the front of 4wd tractors. (1.) We have steep slopes and braking is far superior when going down hill and reverse traction is like-wise better. (2.) With front end loader, the reversed tires not only give better traction when backing away from the stock pile or whatever, but when going forward the reversed tires do not dig in or sink in so badly.

Big +1 for running the fronts backwards on a FEL. Backing out of a pile is handy, but when you try and back up a hill, the reversed R1's in the front is the way to go. With them set forward they pack up and lose both traction *and* steering when you try and back up. With them reversed, they clean out, give better traction, and thus controllability.

Very little uphill performance is lost since going uphill the rear is doing all the work anyway. I have had problems running both forward, but after about 10 years running them reversed in the front I have had no observable problems run this way.

I remember doing that as a kid. It was really awkward looking at the people behind you, right in the face. If I had the opportunity to do this now, as an adult, I would go out of my way to make it extremely awkward!
