Got on my 8560 today to do some bush hogging and the clutch will not work. It has been setting since the last time I had to fix and use it. Battery relay issue. I have a good clutch pedal but it dosent work. I am wondering if the clutch plate is stuck? It might be because it has not been used since last year. How can I get the clutch plates apart if that is the problem? thanks.

nod, did you read any of the threads on this subject at the bottom of the page? These threads are easily overlooked because of their location.
Just get it going in high range.. it will ease into gear without the clutch... after you get it going rev up a bit hold down the clutch and slam the brake.. could take once could take a few... most the time it pops on the first try

And only occasionally breaks the ring and pinion. I did that once. I had a stubborn one that I tried this on many times, so I really got up to speed on the asphalt and hammered the brake in a panic stop....and pop, crunch, ouch! Since then, we give it a careful try. If it does not disengage right away, we split the tractor.
Tried it after I bush hogged with it for about an hour. I figured to get it good and hot and then try it. Tried it three times, last time it killed the tractor dead. Is there anything else to try, take a cover off and spray some penetrating oil on anything? This tractor has 64.5 hours on it and it has been nothing but trouble since it turned 50 hours. Thanks for your replys and help. I had to get it going downhill to get it into high gear. I can only coax into 1st and in low otherwise.

When you park it after use, block the clutch pedal down. Push the clutch in occasionally under full power. The thermal cycling and release of pressure under torque and not keeping it under pressure at nite will all help. If you can get someone with a HST tractor to rock it back and forth that would help.
,,,It seems to be a problem with a new clutch on these tractors. My 7520 clutch froze up three or four times - then no more. I was able to free mine by cycling power on and off frequently while clutching using in a higher gear.
Good luck since yours has been idle for quite a while.

I think the new "Ceramatalic" material they use for clutches these days has a tendancy to stick with humidity. The good old asbestoes clutch would probably not have that issue. My 4025 had the problem also, I removed the lower cover plate and pushed and pryed back on it (with a 2x4) and that broke it loose. I don't think I would spray any oil on or in it as that might lead to a slipping problem when you get it free and could still put you in a splitting situation. Hope you can get it free without splitting it.
I always do it when I first start driving it.. Never had one of those models that I couldn't get broke loose... and as far as breaking something... if you don't get unstuck you splitting it anyway..
Oh and you don't need to hold it down that's not going to help.. it needs the jolt to break loose... use your own judgment though people around here get sensitive to things like this... just telling you my experience
