Tier 4 Killing Tractor PTO HP but Engine HP stays the same or higher?

Last Nebraska test I located on 55 HP was in 2009. I found 2 tests for early & late model 75 HP tractors and I don't see this drastic drop in HP

Evidently the link will not work. It was under the pricing option it shows the PTO HP.

Shame there isn't a demand for aftermarket products to delete all the Tier 4 stuff and update the ECM like there is in the diesel truck world. It's amazing what a difference in HP, mileage and performance a newer diesel truck gets but removing that junk.

I bet with the tier4 stuff coming out you might just see some aftermarket solutions arise besides just a wrench and a hammer! I think one of the biggest problems is the wide range of the systems installed and even the differences between tractors from the same manufactures. With trucks, there are only 3 motor choices. So its pretty easy to get something developed that fits a wide range of consumers.

PTO versus max power depends on power curve. In example Kubota engine in my tractor develops 31 HP and 26.5 PTO HP. Reason being it develops 31HP at 3300 rpm while PTO speed is 2500 rpm (best fuel consumption speed). If your tractor would develop maximum power at PTO speed then maximum HP and PTO HP would be about the same.

I don't think the power would be quite the same. You do have to power everything on the tractor as well as gear train loses to get the pto rating. I don't know exactly what that would be but it's my first thoughts...

I said about the same. PTO power would be several percents less.
