I'm seriously shopping for an aftermarket FEL for my Deere 670. The tractor has never had a FEL. I am about to start a major addition to our house, and the FEL will have many uses.

My question is -- How/where do the hydraulics hook up? My tractor produces 2050psi and 5.5gpm. The hydraulics are currently just running the 3pt and power steering. Both are very strong.

I am not the world's leading expert on hydraulics, but not dumb as a brick. :)

Some of you hydraulic experts weigh in, please.

You will need to add a block to the hydraulics to run the lines to power the FEL. Since the tractor has never had a FEL you may be best to contact a dealer for the required plumbing to operate the FEL.

There are many drawings in www.jdparts.com that show how the factory SCV was connected, as well as the Power Beyond option. These will sort of show the ports you'll need to tap into to get the flow required for the new open/tandem center joystick valve you will be adding.

Some better quality FEL kits might include the needed parts to make this hook up, although your machine is pretty old so that may not be true anymore.

Is yours 2 or 4wd? Power steering or manual? Is your machine worth putting $3K into?

Thanks. I'll check it out.
It's 2wd with power steering. Mainly a mowing rig, but it does a super job with the turf tires and effortless power steering.
Yes, to me it's worth adding the cost. It's a nice little tractor. I'm in it right, and I plan to keep it.

I added an FEL to my New Holland 1720 a few years ago. I had my dealer install the unit. At the time they carried 3 or 4 different manufacturers. I don't know if your local Deere dealer would have any FEL's available other than Deere's. I really like my FEL and I am sure you will also. Keep us updated.

I'm looking at a Woods 84 or a Koyker 120.
(I think those are the right #s. I don't have them with me).
I don't think my JD dealer carries anything other than JD. I haven't asked them, but a friend told me that. I know I don't want to pay for a JD FEL. I know Woods makes really good stuff, but it's pretty high. Koyker is a lot less but the quality is a little less too. I'm not too afraid of that, as I won't be abusing it. I tend to take care of stuff... The small tractor with turfs can only be so hard on a FEL anyway. :)

My unit is a Stoll. My dealer carried Bush Hog, Amsung, New Holland, Stoll. Woods is top shelf but I think you would be happy with the Koyker also. I would not be afraid of them. They have been in the FEL business a long time.
