Hi folks,

I just got the following-costs for the 25d. Any thoughts on whether or it's a fair price?

Hydraulic chute option (installed) $895

Jonohio. Your new bx25d-1 price quote is very attractive although the chute unit for the snowblower seems high.

But you may want to ask yourself a question. Why is this price so attractive compared to what others have paid earlier this year ?

The answer may not be about your dealer's generosity or Kubota's generosity. It may be because a lack of dynamic braking has forced alternative choices by other new product buyers like myself.

Your pricing is very good . . and if your purpose is flat land . . maybe you can tolerate having little or no dynamic braking. But if you will be using it on slopes and hills and inclines . . then I would suggest no decision until you test drive the unit on comparable downhill slopes like you would have with the backhoe on and off. And . . . tighten your seatbelt.

Let me be crystal clear: JohnThomas's lack of dynamic braking is barely tolerable for him and he's on flat land activities. If I had no dynamic braking . . I'd never be able to use the tractor because it is a major issue not having dynamic braking on slopes and hills and inclines.
Sort of not so. I have some flat rental property with six septic tanks therefore need a BH but my home acreage is almost all hillside and sloping. I have cut out a flat spot for a 24'x48' storage building and am this minute waiting for 25 tons of gravel to spread out on it with the BX25 which will do the job with no issues. It does not keep rolling at speed when the pedal is released, it stops, almost which in a real close situation can be a few inches to far to the point of hitting something but never a danger of the run away tractor. It jus doesn't totally stop on a dime when the go pedal is released like all other HSTs.
Interesting tid bit of info or question. Who or what Company currently owns most of Massey? :D:D

Greetings John Thomas,

I apologize if I overstated how tolerable your situation is on flat land. But reading your intensions to trade your new unit as soon as you can get an acceprable price does not sould like a tolerable situation to me :)

On another topic . . if you have some decent slopes (say 10 or 15 degrees or more) . . are you required to use your brake going down those slopes

a. With a fel on

b. With the fel off

In my case one of my worst lawn slopes (about 19 degrees) my massey gc does not need the brake applied with or without fel on.

So, Who has talked to Kubota directly about this, and have they replied or come up with any explanation or plan?

A couple other big questions are:

1. Is it a certain batch or time-of-build group of BX25D-1 units?

2. Are there batches or time-of-build groups of BX18, BX23, or BX26. 70-1s that also are displaying the same loss of dynamic braking?

And based on the product pricing Jonah showed . . I'm guessing Kubota either:

A. Knows the problem has effected sales and is drastically cutting prices

Or

B. Kubota has no clue why inventory is piling up . . and is noticing competition is gaing ground . . . something new for Kubota.

Spoke to my dealer just now, and he sad it is an eccentric adkustment, and has sold 40 of these BX25Ds and only had one come back.

Interesting . . so your dealer doesn't know what the level of satisfaction is or isn't on the other 39 ?

I have noticed that some Kubota dealers were getting a little sloppy. They gave you a price and expected the tractor to sell itself and you with it. Some didn't want to deal very much, if at all and maybe that caught up with them or at least is catching up with them? Oh, Massey Ferguson is owned by Agco, a Canadian company.

They just judge customer satisfaction by whether or not they get complaints.

In the sales and marketing business . . what you describe is called " failure marketing". Its considered a poor method of opinion and worst source of accurate information because it doesn't focus on image confidence or future potential. Its also a sign of a business that must find lots of new customers because repeat business is not prized or fertilized.

Its quite inaccurate because it doesn't gauge or measure satisfaction vs. mere tolerance vs. Intolerance. And it doesn't improve add-on sales possibilities or customer interactions.

Lastly . . Its a tough environment for emloyees because its not nearly as fun . . because its pessimism based instead of optimism based . . or its an overworked basis that doesn't have the time to followup on customers.

In terms of time spent and costs created . . repeat sales is the most profitable sales and typically the most personally rewarding for sales and setvice employees.
