Glad to hear things are getting resolved. The manager showed integrity by coming to your home and talking with you.

Being ignorant of newer tractors, i have an 07 5303, will someone please explain the "Regen" thingy for me. I've been following this thread with interest & sadness at the QC issues here.

Thanks,
Ronnie

In regen mode exhaust temp is raised to help burn soot out of muffler. Some where in tractors life I'll bet this filter will require replacement. RE567056 Diesel Particulate Filter - DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER 1,544.76 USD

Are DPF's only on the smaller diesels for final Tier 4? I just had a quick look and it seems John Deere uses SCR technology (exhaust fluid) on a 6m for example, eliminating the need for a DPF. Seems strange the smaller ones have DPF as they would be much more likely to clog up the filter. I absolutely hated the DPF on my truck with the regens and couldn't remove it quick enough. I actually don't mind the SCR on my new tractor because you would never know it's there, no regens ever. Just top up the exhaust fluid every couple hundred hours.

Got up this morning and now it appears the lower radiator hose is leaking , its almost laughable at this point. I wanted to check them yesterday but there is a shroud that needs removed to access them and they were not leaking so I let it go. Now that the top one is no longer relieving the pressure, it went to the lower one. Strictly an assumption by me at this point but its in the vicinity of the hose and im sure the clamp is loose. Ive had possession of it 5 days and it has been worked on by me or the dealer every one of them. Im getting that warm and fuzzy feeling again about sticking with John Deere. Stay tuned everybody, grab your popcorn and peanuts, this is making a real story.

John Deere uses worm type clamps for some reason(cheaper) Automotive spring clamps maintain tightness as things expand and contract with temperature.
The worm type clamps will need to be tightened a couple of times and will eventually almost stop leaking. I had about 10 different leaks when I got mine (oil, fuel, hyrdraulic) and after the dealer tightening twice and I tightened a few after they no longer dripped, just seeped a little. You would think they would save money on warranty claims by using proper clamps.....

The Deere tractors with scr still have dpf also. They claim by using both, they use less def fluid. They also have cooled egr as well. I don't really understand the dislike of exhaust filters. Only real problem I have seen is when operator disables auto and forgets to turn it back on. Occasional bad sensor maybe.

I've often wondered if Deere Corp reads TBN like Kubota does?

More than a few time Kubota has stepped in from posts on TBN which is great for a large manufacturer.

Can't remember when exactly... I have in the past e-mailed Corp links on discussions just to make sure they were aware...

Sound like the KYThunder is hanging in there and sharing is a way to vent and exchange ideas...

Sure does look like a beautiful rig...

Well, as I suspected it was both the clamps on the lower radiator hose, I put another 3/4 turns on the ones I tightened the night before. I keep hearing how its normal but I have never ever had to go around any tractor, car, atv, etc and tighten clamps up when new. Anyway, I got all that done and I see a new drip on other side of tractor, antifreeze as well. Today is not going to be a good day for my dealer.....Ive had all I want of this thing. You know if it had only been a drip here or there is one thing but this has been a disaster from day one and I won't even mention the reason I got this tractor is because my other one was a lemon.

I've never heard of any problems with hose clamps before either. Usually the hose itself sticks the the metal so tight that the clamp isn't even needed. It does scare me how many little things they got wrong and what are the odds that they got the big things right.
