Service in VT for a Yanmar (haven't bought it yet)

"Gentleman" farmer here: this would be my first REAL tractor.

I located a solid 1979 Yanmar 1500D at a good price. I cannot find info on dealers or specialized mechanics who could serve it here in Vermont. I will use the tractor mostly for light work, snow removal, clearing brush, mowing, moving some boulders, maybe dragging a tree here and there.

Is there anyone who could tell me how easy it is to get it serviced? What about manuals? Are they ready available? I am also curious about where Yanmars are most popular, in what regions. Is there a network of users in New England?

As far as getting simple service done, anybody that services tractors should be able to do it. Depending on how much you are doing to use it, a 1979 tractor is fairly old and parts may be harder to obtain because of its age. Find a dealer on the list and call them to see how hard it would be to keep it serviced.

That Yanmar is a gray import. The good thing is, it's a popular model. It has the 2TR15 engine.

Thank you for the input. I like the fact that Yanmars have many aficionados who truly respect the integrity of the brand.
