The Galaxy R4 tires are 10 years old on my JD 3520, and they are in great shape. That said, I only have 700 hours on them; mostly mowing and loader work.

You may want to see what tire brand the new JD 1000-series units have, and use this as a buying guide.

I still have the original tires on our BX1500. More than 11 yrs, 2300 hrs, mostly outdoor storage - and they are fine. Not Carlisles tho. Bridgestone I think.
Correction:

,,,My tires on the front are Maxxis M7515 Power Lug - 18x8.50x8.

On my JD lawn tractor the fronts had bad side walls after 25 years, replaced both last year, it's a 1989.

17 years on my 4300. Hard to understand that you kept it indoors and the tires weather checked. Puzzling to me.

That IS a puzzle.... I can only think that I occasionally use Extreme Green to wash the tractor wheels and tires every year.??? The rear tires do not get exposed to the same treatment and they are fine....

No idea what "Extreme Green" might be. ??

I had my TO30 for over 20 years and the tires were very old when I got it. It was undercover all the time I had it, and I'd guess most of the time before I got it, based on it's condition.

I replaced them a year before I sold it.

Good rubber on a tractor is a safety factor, like good rubber on a car or truck.

I just sold my old JD lawn mower that still had the original tires, and was 20 years old. Where were your tires made? I know some of the cheap Chinese tires won't last over 10 years. It's all about the compound they use. I have a couple pairs of rubber boots, stored side by side. One is a 35 year old pair made by LaCrosse (when they were made in USA) and the other pair is another brand import, less than 10 years old. The Lacrosse boots are still in fairly good shape and waterproof. The imports are disintegrating and going in the trash. I'm not saying there aren't good imports, but there's a big difference in the quality of rubber in these 2 pairs.

That IS a puzzle.... I can only think that I occasionally use Extreme Green to wash the tractor wheels and tires every year.??? The rear tires do not get exposed to the same treatment and they are fine....
Have you been able to find this out yet?

Ditto.. I put new tires on a ford 850 11 ys ago and it's stored in an open side 'lean-to' style shed, and other than a hair 'dry' looking, they are still newish looking on the sidewalls.

I think the greatest threat to tire life is sunshine. The UV will breakdown the rubber and shorten the life. Keeping the air in them and using them keeps them supple and reduces weather checking and dry rot.
