My Grandfathers Farm:
My Grandfather (1897-1988) on his farm, with my aunt and cousins. My grandfathers farm, a few miles from my parents farm has been in the family since the early 1800's and is now owned by one of my cousins. This picture taken in the 1940's. My great grandparents farm was to the left of this picture, down in the valley. He died a few years before I was born. I loved playing here as a child.
My mom, picture taken just below my grandfathers farm with his neighbors house in the background.
Picture of my grandfathers house taken by my mom in 2002. This is the reverse direction from the previous picture of my mom. Note the same garage in the background from the first picture. Wish I had his 1940's car that was in the garage, it was sold in the 80's. My grandfather had a large fenced garden in the grass area.
Picture taken from the north property line. The hills were very steep. I still remember my grandfather's large draft horses, but have no pictures of them. My dad walked across the valley to the left to attend a one room school. My grandmothers family lived across that valley, so my grandparents farm was between their parents farms.
