LED lights for 6 volts 8N??

Another thought I had in the bathroom this morning was take a 12 volt LED Lamp and gut it. Take out the power supply, and wire 3 of the internal LED's in series observing polarity . you will need to find the anode and cathode of each diode.The 6 volts would be about right for 3 LEDs. If it has 6 LEDs in the lamp wire 2 sets of the 3 that are in series in parallel. This is a do at your own risk experiment. I haven't done it, so act accordingly. Fusing would be a good idea..

Have to be carefull, some leds have all their power conversion on the substraight... ( I have seen red leds and blinker leds like this ) though I havn't been into any of the new clusters so it may well work for all I know.

Agreed, just have to wreck one and see how it is made. But they are cheap enough now to do that with . of course I realise that most guys probably don't even know what we are discussing, let alone cutting circuit board traces and soldering in jumpers and analysis of the results. This is a tractor forum after all not an electronics design group

Speaking of that. They could probably get online and browse and find un assembled LEd segments at specs they want. with world industry and shipping as it is.. amazon makes digging thru old MCM , Maxim or Mouser catalogs pretty defunct now. remember the days.. I can remember getting a new Maxim catalog ? 25 ys ago and requesting engineering samples of a few IF chips... and actually getting them. Back around the same time. 25-30 ys ago when you could get demo purpose hardware like new high speed modems ( 14.4 USR DS ) for half retail price.

It has probably been 5 us since I ordered from mouser. We had a local parts warehouse a couple cities south that sold to walkin or wholesale.. But not anymore. Skycraft?
