Men don't usually offer support for each other in the wild, so it's nice to find a bit of that going on here.

Today was my 46 anniversary. 46th is "poetry" if you're into that sort of thing. I conjured up whatever poet buried deep and mostly dormant within me this morning and mumbled, "Roses are red, violets are blue, and I love you". That got a chuckle in response.

I think I've been shopping with her maybe 4 or 5 times over the years, so I know what you've been through today. Be brave. We're behind you, albeit a L-O-N-G way behind you.

I had to teach my wife to shop. She used to hate to shop and now kind likes it but it just isn't her thing. She doesn't like it when I go shopping because I am the spender in the family, she want's to put it all in the bank. I think I'll keep her.

If my wife shops at the mall and I happen to be driving I usually stay in the car and since I generally have the paper with me I do the crossword puzzles.*
A dress shop is the worst punishment a guy has to endure.
My wife will flick thru every dress on every rack regardless as to sizes.
Fortunately she knows where every discount rack is in every store.
The MIL did train her well in the bargain department.
In all fairness I will add that she also knows where the men's discount racks are and knows my sizes.

*I long ago learned to retain a reserve of pens in my glove box LOL!

We haven't been to a mall in 5 years or more. Neither of us are shoppers. Order it on the net, delivered to the door. Done.

Go to estatesales.net and find a few sales near you. You will find a few sales coming up with clothes, shoes, tools, farm stuff, oil, man-cave items and even stuff you hate but your friends will buy from you. In fact, the stuff you sell pays for the stuff you want and need. Just don't get carried away or you will need a bigger barn.

We find a lot of stuff 'new with tags' meaning the owners never wore it or used it. I'll never have to buy clothing or tools new again. Most of this is old-school made in USA and highly collectable. Day 3 (last day of a sale) is usually 1/2 off the marked price.

My beloved wife of 52 years...Sharn Jean...is an Olympic quality shopper. In fact, if there was an Olympic shopping team, she would undoubtedly be the captain. She wore me out back in the 60's; I rarely go with her unless it's to the grocery store...even my daughters hesitate to go with her. Give her a flea market or a craft show and she's good for all day.

Overheard in Walmart recently: One man to another man; "When I die, I want to be buried in Walmart. That way my wife will come see me once in a while!"
