I had an incident in the cab on my New Holland TD70. I was ploughing when something kicked up and shattered the back window. The glass completely shattered into a million pieces. Guess they don't use safety glass in cabins.
you can get a very light window film/tint or some that is almost clear ( I have it bookmarked but can't remember off my head the name of it). It was designed to be used windshields with about 97/98% light transmittance. My point is, look into something like this for your replacement and if it happens again 1. it could stop the object more because it has to go through the film as well and 2. more glass pieces will stick to it hopefully making cleanup easier. In addition, it usually keeps glass from flying, especially form impacts.
