Yeah, a few seconds deadheading the pump is no problem. It is when people push the control valve into detent and then go brush hog 40 acres. After a period of time the fluid heats up and the pump heats up, and seals can melt etc. If you are attuned to your machine, you know "something is not right" immediately, but you cannot expect a new person to be attuned to the sounds and responses of their new machine.
