Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

I bought the $9.99 magnetic towing lights to use as the cheapest available trailer rewiring kit. I have an 'open' somewhere and it will be simpler to just string this all-new wire to the back. It even has the right connector on it already. Might even use the lights in the kit.
What about side marker lights?

You've given me an idea, think I'm going to see if I can buy a complete LED kit with ground wire in the harness.

+1 on the 4-sided diamond hone and the $5 canvas tool bags! Someone on here suggested the bags as chain keepers. Awesome for that! Made stout enough to hold 20ft of their 5/16" grade 70 with ease. I keep long chain in one and several shorter sections in another.

I'll see what works. Just the new cable that doesn't need the front connector spliced on, and long enough to reach the rear of the trailer, makes this worthwhile.

I hope it has enough conductors to include the side markers. ... In fact it would have to, because it includes the night time continual taillights. I can probably power from there to the side markers using the existing wires if I have to.

Only if they are LED and you switch the bulbs in the taillights to LED. Otherwise the wires are too thin (in my experience) to run taillights and turn signals.

Supposedly the side markers in the HF LED light kit are regular bulbs, not LED, and they are not waterproof.

eTrailer has a kit with waterproof LED tail lights, side markers, and harness with ground wire for $65.

Not to put too fine a point on it, why not just spend the $9.99 for the HF kit, a few $ more for LED replacement bulbs and waterproof the lights yourself with some sealer and save the other $35 for beer money.

Last weekend I visited Rural King for the first time. Didn't see anything I really needed, but it was a huge store, much more stuff than TSC. Also drove by HF, and was driving an empty truck... Again, didn't know what I needed, so drove on by. This week I went back thru these posts, made a list of the things I might want to buy the next time I'm in this situation. So next time, I have a list of about $1000 of stuff to try. lol

Maybe $250 gift card and a 25% off coupon. Think I'd snag up a drill press, vise, and some misc handle tools with it.

Harbor Freight should be giving out the prize! How about a $5000 shopping spree?

Hey, I won 2nd prize last contest and still need to spend it all but willing to go for another one. LOL.
Mine was 2nd place for $50.00 US but being in Canada with exchange rate they swapped it for $75.00 Cdn.
I call that a win win!
I had opted for Wallmart card as they are in Canada and all others were in US.

I've been wanting to go back to HF for a tool box... co-worker has one, works well...

If I get the magic double post I'll get the #5000 prize! (Fingers crossed)

Edit: no, I DID NOT post twice! This is one double post I don't plan to take the 5-6 clicks to remove! *grin*
